Share Your Story: Life Without Driving in Columbia
We’re collecting personal stories from Columbia residents who do not drive as part of Week Without Driving.
At Local Motion, we know that not everyone in Columbia gets around by car. Many of our neighbors walk, bike, ride the bus, catch rides, or find other ways to move through the city. We also know that being a non-driver often comes with challenges, and your stories can help shine a light on them.
We’re collecting personal stories from Columbia residents who do not drive as part of Week Without Driving, a national effort to help people understand what it is like to navigate daily life without driving. Whether you are a student, a senior, a parent, or someone who chooses not to own a car, we want to hear your experiences moving through our community.
How it works
If you are interested, please fill out this short eligibility survey. Non-drivers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to apply. If you are under 18, you may participate with parental consent. If selected, we will follow up by email to schedule an interview where you can share your story. Participants will receive $60 for their time.
Why your story matters
Your perspective helps highlight the real challenges non-drivers face every day in Columbia. By sharing your story, you are helping shape the conversation around safer, more accessible, and more connected transportation in our city.
