We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy Columbia's trails, parks, and outdoors — regardless of age or ability 👩‍🦽

We use our specially adapted tandem wheelchair bike to provide bike rides to older adults, people with disabilities, and anyone who is not able to ride a bike independently.

Reach out to our Community Engagement Coordinator, Gabi Jacobs, to schedule a ride or become a volunteer!

Livable streets are for kids, too! 💁🏽

At Local Motion, we believe that all people, ages 8 to 80, should feel safe and comfortable traveling on Columbia's streets. Picture this: kids play in their neighborhood streets without having to worry about cars zipping past them. They can walk or bike to their nearby school or friend's houses.

Most importantly, kids should get to feel empowered in advocating for places they want to live. The students at Windsor Street Montessori School signed our CoMo Livable Streets petition, wrote to their City Counselors, and learned about how Livable Streets can create thriving communities.

Gabi believes that when you get around town outside of a car, you don't just simply move through a community but become a part of it.

When we combine air pollution with extreme heat in a city, the result is an increased risk to our health. Come chat about these issues and join in the fun as we partner with the City to launch the Show Me the Heat: Columbia Heat Map 2022 campaign.
