Membership

Local Motion members make a difference. Join the movement.

8,000 members + you

Local Motion represents 8,000 members, including individuals, families, businesses, clubs, and organizations.

Our members are critical to our ability to carry out our advocacy mission. Local Motion becomes more influential as people join the movement, as our member base becomes more diverse, and as our members feel confident to advocate for their own needs.

Local Motion members are often:

  • people who like to walk or bike,
  • families who want safe places for their kids to walk to school,
  • business owners who know the economic benefits of walkable, bikeable, and transit-friendly places,
  • people who would rather take a quick and convenient bus trip than have the high cost of owning a car, and
  • clubs and organizations that want safe transportation options throughout the community.

About Membership

We’re in the room where it happens.

Our team represents you and your needs. We’re watching, researching, and advocating for walking, biking, and transit policy and infrastructure issues every single day.

We know not everyone has the time to be involved in all the inner workings of local government, so we go to meetings so you don’t have to.

We’re on this stuff like it’s our job (because it is!). And when there’s an urgent issue where we need your help, we’ll send you an Advocacy Alert with clear guidance on what you can do.

As a Local Motion member, you’ll get:

Our team of advocates representing you at the local, state, and federal levels

Advocacy Alerts about urgent policy issues and how you can help

Our email newsletter with updates on current projects
