Spring evening bike tour of downtown Columbia with microbrew samples

Wednesday, May 15, 2024

Join us for a spring evening bike tour of downtown Columbia with stops for local microbrew samples.

This is a fun, easy, and social ride through downtown Columbia. Don’t want to bike? The route is easily walkable! Come dressed for an evening out on the town and ready to have some fun.

Tickets cost $48 and include event registration, a happy hour, microbrew samples with appetizers, and admission to the Christopher Paul Stelling concert at Rose Music Hall. Tickets will also be available for purchase on-site at check-in. Cash and cards are accepted.

Please bring your own reusable cup to enjoy microbrew samples! Local Motion branded reusable cups will be available for purchase at check-in, or you can bring your own cup.

  • 4:00 p.m. — Happy Hour at Boone County Lumber (please check in at Walt's first!)
  • 4:00-5:50 p.m. — Check-in at Walt's Bike Shop
  • 6:00 p.m. — Hit the town!
  • 7:45 p.m. — Check-out at Rose Music Hall

We will provide participants with tickets and a map of the stop locations. At each stop, use your ticket to get your microbrew sample. Bikes & Brews doesn't have a set route or order for visiting the stops, so feel free to create your route to get to each stop.

  • 21 years+ only.
  • No need for spandex or padded shorts — dress for an evening out on the town.
  • We will have a bike mechanic on the route providing SAG support in case anyone has bike trouble along the way.

Snag a Bikes & Brews t-shirt

We have Bikes & Brews t-shirts! Order one when you register for $25.

What to Expect

This is a bike ride, so ride your bike (or walk) to the start at Walt's Bike Shop!

Parking will also be available in the Walt's Bike Shop parking lot.

Please be sure to bring a photo ID — we will be verifying that each attendee is over 21.

  • The ride will be partially after dark, so YOU MUST BRING LIGHTS! To stay safe and legal, we recommend having a white front light and a red rear light. If you don’t have lights, you can purchase them up from any of the local bike shops.
  • We will provide snacks during the ride, but we encourage you to eat before you arrive.
  • Please be sure to obey all traffic laws and rules of the road are while you’re on a bike. We will expect all attendees to abide by them to stay safe and legal.
  • Bring a bike lock. Be sure to use bike racks when possible and avoid blocking sidewalks when parking your bike.

We will give you a set of tickets, a map and a list of the stops before leaving. Trade in your ticket for a beer sample at each stop.

Bikes & Brews will have all pre-ordered t-shirts ready for pickup at the event check-in.

Additional shirts will be able to be purchased on-site at One to One Print Shop for $25.

We will have a bike mechanic available for support during the ride to assist with any mechanical issues.

We will have a check-out table at Rose Music Hall. Please be sure to stop at the table and check out so we know you’ve finished the ride.
